Welcome!
The Krokodil Zoo was opened seventeen years ago in the downtown of Kaposvar, a little Hungarian city. The Terrarium gives home to a unique exhibition of exotic reptiles: snakes, turtles and crocodiles.
Our specialities are the Madagascar boa, the snapping turtle along with Cuvier's and Schneider's dwarf caimans (Paleosochus palbebrosus and trigonatus), - the smallest-in-size crocodilians of the world. Altogether 10-11 animals of these species can be found in Europe.
The Broad-snouted caiman (Cayman latirostris) is a real curiousity, there are no more than 6 animals of this kind in Europe. The Yacare caiman is not less rare either (Cayman yacare), with up to 60 specimens alive in captivity worldwide.

The renovation of the Terrarium is finished and the renewed Krokodil Zoo has re-opened its doors for the visitors. |
